From 26 May it is possible to submit applications for mooring authorisations at the buoy field in the Mare Morto area.
92 mooring places are currently available, divided into categories: 6 for small-scale artisanal fishing, 2 for fishing tourism, 2 for hire and rental activities, 2 for diving activities, 1 for guided tours and passenger transport, 4 for short-term mooring of recreational craft and 75 for long-term mooring of recreational craft.
Places are assigned through a ranking list drawn up on the basis of the applications received. Each application may concern one vessel only. If not all the places available for a given category are assigned, they may be redistributed to the short-term and long-term mooring categories in chronological order of application. Should further places become available beyond the initial 92, they will be assigned by working down the ranking list.
Applications must be made using the form downloadable at the end of this page, or collected at the Marine Protected Area offices at the Centro Polivalente in via Tharros. A copy of a valid identity document must be attached.
Applications may be submitted from 11:00 on 26 May 2026 until 13:00 on 1 June 2026: by certified email to protocollo@pec.comune.cabras.or.it, by ordinary email to protocollo@comune.cabras.or.it, or by hand in a sealed envelope to the Records Office of the Municipality of Cabras, Piazza Eleonora 1, ground floor. For hand delivery, ask the clerk to record the date and time of receipt.
The subject line of the certified email must read “ISTANZA DI AUTORIZZAZIONE ALL’ORMEGGIO PRESSO IL CAMPO BOE DI MARE MORTO”; the same wording must appear on the envelope in case of hand delivery.
Rates
- Recreational craft, residents of the Municipality of Cabras: €35 daily, €90 weekly, €150 monthly, €300 annual
- Recreational craft, non-residents: €40 daily, €100 weekly, €200 monthly, €400 annual
- Craft used for commercial activities: €45 daily, €120 weekly, €250 monthly, €500 annual
- Craft used for professional fishing: monthly and annual only, €50 and €100
Once the ranking list is approved, those assigned a place must complete payment within seven consecutive days of its publication, sending proof of payment to the managing body within the same deadline. A €16 revenue stamp must also be added, to be affixed to the authorisation.
