Educational and naturalistic outreach activities

Regulation on educational and naturalistic outreach activities

(pursuant to art. 27 of M.D. 100 of 28.04.2017)

1. Educational and naturalistic outreach activities are not permitted in Zones A.
2. In Zones B and C, educational and naturalistic outreach activities are permitted subject to authorisation by the managing body.
3. The managing body authorises parties with proven experience in the field of environmental education and naturalistic outreach, related to the marine environment, in order to carry out educational and outreach activities within the marine protected area.
4. For the purpose of issuing the authorisation, with a maximum annual validity, for carrying out educational and naturalistic outreach activities in the marine protected area, applicants must:
   1. be authorised to carry out the activity according to current regulations on the matter;
   2. provide a specific report on the methods of carrying out the activity and on its contents;
   3. pay the managing body a fee as a secretarial charge, according to the methods indicated in the following art. 35;
   4. in the case of using support nautical craft, indicate their characteristics, and submit the documentation relating to the possession of the requirements provided for recreational craft, referred to in art. 18 of the present regulation.
5. The issue of the authorisation entails the obligation to:
   1. provide the managing body with information relating to the activities carried out, for the purposes of monitoring the marine protected area;
   2. provide users with the specific information material prepared by the managing body;
   3. obtain from users a formal declaration of acknowledgement of the updating decree, of the regulation, of the present regulation and of any annual provisional regulations.
6. The nautical craft supporting educational and naturalistic outreach activities must comply with the provisions of articles 18, 19, 20, respectively on recreational navigation, mooring and anchoring
7. In relation to the environmental protection needs underlying the founding decree, the managing body reserves the right, following the monitoring carried out to verify the carrying capacity of the sites dedicated to educational and naturalistic outreach activities, to adapt, by subsequent measures, after consulting the Reserve Commission, with prior approval by the Ministry, the regulation of educational and naturalistic outreach activities.
