In the marine protected area no direct or indirect alteration of the biochemical characteristics of the water is permitted, including the release of any toxic or polluting substance, the release of solid or liquid waste and the discharge of effluents not compliant with the most restrictive requirements provided for by current regulations.
All catering and tourist accommodation services, tourist and recreational establishments with access to the sea and bathing establishments must be connected to the public sewer system, or to domestic and similar wastewater disposal systems.
Failure to comply with these provisions, already pursuant to art. 13 of the decree updating the marine protected area, entails the application of the sanctions referred to in the following art. 39, in addition to the provisions of the current legislation on water.
