The conference “Mediterranean biodiversity in Sardinian waters: threats, protection, biodiversity” will be held on Friday 7 February 2020 at 17:30 at the Centro Polifunzionale of the Municipality of Cabras (opens in a new window).
The initiative is part of World Wetlands Day, celebrated on 2 February, and is complemented by numerous awareness-raising and information activities proposed by many local organisations.
The conference is organised as part of the outreach activities of the MARISTANIS project, which aims to define an integrated management model for the wetlands of the Gulf of Oristano and the Penisola del Sinis – Isola di Mal di Ventre. Coordinated by the MEDSEA foundation and co-financed by the Swiss foundation MAVA for Nature, the project involves, besides the Marine Protected Area, ten municipalities of the Gulf of Oristano and numerous stakeholders contributing in various ways to the sustainable development of the Oristano area.
