“SINIS SENTINELS” PROJECT LAUNCHED. APPLICATIONS OPEN UNTIL 3 JUNE

From today until 3 June you can apply to join the civic volunteering project “SINIS SENTINELS”. As announced in recent months, this is an innovative civic volunteering project that aims to involve all citizens in awareness-raising and environmental education activities along the coast of the Marine Protected Area. The project is run in collaboration with the “SEA SCOUT” Sports and Social Promotion Association (opens in a new window) (which will handle operational coordination, given its experience and expertise) and with the IAS-CNR section of Torregrande (opens in a new window), which will provide technical and scientific support and volunteer training. There will be two areas of activity, LAND and SEA, with teams of volunteers organised in shifts, tasked with informing users about the value of our natural heritage and the richness of the biodiversity along our coasts. The aim is to offer an innovative service that allows everyone, even the least attentive, to enjoy their holidays responsibly. For the first time, recreational boating will also be covered by this service, which will start in July and run until September. Participants are asked to be available for 10 days, not necessarily consecutive, with maximum flexibility so that everyone can take part. In return, benefits are offered such as buying a coastal parking season ticket at the resident rate, or a mooring place at Mare Morto for those who make their own boat available to the project. Through a sponsorship call, businesses and economic operators can also take part in the project and help cover operating costs. For more information, contact our offices on 0783 391097.
